It is Black History Month, which is very exciting, and I am starting a "clean diet" by, Alejandro Junger.
For the past five days, I have given up a lot, to gain much more in the end. This new way of eating is challenging but I am determined to be healthier. With God's strength, the support of my family and tuning in to Doctor Oz (Anyone that knows me, knows I love Doctor Oz) I will succeed!
So here is what I am giving up for the entire month!
Dairy & Eggs
This is shouldn't be too bad to eliminate. I use milk only in my coffee and eggs a hardly ate.
Gluten & Wheat
What! Who isn't addicted to bread. I am sure my body will miss this.
Beef & Pork
Piece of cake. I don't eat pork and I gave up beef over 2 years ago.
Alcohol, Coffee, & Soda
I never drink alcohol or soda. But coffee on the other hand. I was drinking four cups a day!
I only had soy in my Chai Tea from Starbucks. This was really considered a treat because it cost too much.
Easy! I would always saute my veggies.
Not so easy but doable.
I know this seems like a lot, but this "Clean" detox is all about eating and not starving yourself.
Here is what you can have: Whole vegetables/leafy greens, brown rice/non-gluten grains, stevia, beans/lentils, green tea, apple cider vinegar, wild fish, organic chicken & turkey, whole fruits/berries, nuts, seed, coconut oil & milk, plant-based protein powder.
So far its been good. I haven't cheated but the cravings are extremely serious. In the beginning I did have headaches. But overall I feel great! I have not been "crashing" through out the day and I am sleeping better.

I am excited about my journey!
